More free time

Among all the domestic appliances that fill our homes the one that has had the greatest impact is the washing machine. Why is this?

After the second world war there was a time of immense growth and industrial rebirth so companies strived to come up with answers to the increasing demand for a better way of life by producing, among other things, a machine that would free the household of one of the most time-consuming tasks: washing clothes and linens. During these years existing washing machine models were improved in a way which also had a profound effect on the emancipation of women.

But progress doesn’t stop and now the incredible innovation that was the washing machine is about to be surpassed by a revolution of no less significance, ecological single-use clothing.

Not just the washing machine but also the iron and the clotheshorse will become less important as disposable clothing items become more common. This in turn will lead to more free time, leading to an improvement in wellbeing and freedom in the same way as the washing machine did in the last century.
